A stricken yacht that was unable to sail into Portishead Marina had to be rescued by the lifeboat.

The 45ft-long yacht with four people on board, made a distress call on Sunday afternoon after a rope became wrapped around her propeller.

Although the yacht was able to sail, she was unable to approach the marina in Portishead as it had no engine.

The Lifeboat towed the yacht in safely to Portishead Marina.
