Come along to the lifeboat station to meet the crew, check out our 8.5 metre rigid inflatable Atlantic class lifeboat ‘My Lady Anne’ and have a good look around. You’ll have the chance to chat with some of the volunteers who keep the station up and running, as well as enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and (hopefully) a slice of cake. And we’re proud to present our ‘Beach Buddies’ water safety show, too.
Open from 10am to 3pm
Crew and lifeboat availability subject to operational requirements
We’ll be holding a fundraising collection at Sainsbury’s superstore on Serbert Road. Complete with flags, stickers and other lifeboat goodies. Do stop and say hello to us if you’re popping in to do your shopping.
We’ll have a fundraising souvenir stall at the show, which will be held this year at Gordano School. If you’re into all things nautical, this is the event for you. We hope to see you there.
We’ve had the Olympic torch, so now it’s the turn of the yellow welly! Working with our fellow RNLI lifeboat stations around the coast, we’ve set ourselves the challenge of getting a yellow RNLI welly all the way around the south coast to Harwich in Essex. And it all kicks off in Portishead. Keep an eye out for more details.
It’s our lifeboat shop’s second birthday. And to celebrate, we’re holding a fundraising cake sale at the lifeboat station. So if you’ve got a sweet tooth, do come along and say hello (and have some cake!). We’ll advertise more details nearer the time. And if you’d like to bake a cake to support the work of our volunteer lifeboat crew, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
To coincide with the RNLI’s national ‘Mayday’ campaign, we’re holding our very own flag week in Portishead. There’ll be collections, challenges and much more. And if you’d like to do your own fundraising event or challenge to help support our volunteer crew, get in touch for your special fundraising pack.
Join us for an evening of musical merriment with internationally renowned tenor Ben Makisi, local doo-wop group The Cat’s Pyjamas and violinist Lu Jeffery. And help to raise vital funds to support RNLI Portishead’s volunteer lifeboat crew.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the RNLI, to meet some of our volunteer crew and to support us in saving lives at sea. All in the comfortable surroundings of Portishead’s Somerset Hall, with an on-site bar, parking just a short walk away and plenty of local overnight accommodation for those travelling from further afield
Doors open at 7.15pm. Event starts at 7.45pm and finishes at 10.15pm. Fully licensed bar. Souvenir stall. Lots of fun.
Tickets are now on sale at the lifeboat station shop, at the Butcher’s Block in the High Street and online at http://rnliportishead.eventbrite.co.uk. But hurry, they are selling out fast.
We’re looking forward to taking part in the carnival again this year. We’re already putting together ideas for the parade and will, of course, be at the showground, too. Come along and meet some of the lifeboat crew, buy RNLI souvenirs and check out our new friend, Van Oscar Charlie (Clue: It’s a van! That looks like a lifeboat!).
Now a firm favourite on our calendar, we’ll be back at Portishead Primary School again this year with Stormy Stan and our lifeboat souvenir stall. And we’ll be bringing our ‘Beach Buddies’ water safety show. Not to be missed!
We’ll be coming out in force again for the raft race. Come along to meet the lifeboat crew, buy some RNLI souvenirs and learn a bit more about what we do. We’ll have Van Oscar Charlie with us again, as well as important information on how you can stay safe when you’re out and about on the coast this summer.
One of our favourite events, we’re delighted to be coming along to the Festival on the Quay again. There’ll be plenty going on, including members of the lifeboat crew, lifeboat souvenirs and the ‘Beach Buddies’ water safety show. And just a few minutes’ walk from the marina, we’ll be running tours of the lifeboat station, too. A great day out for all the family!
Another firm favourite on the RNLI Portishead calendar. We’re still planning what we’ll be doing, but we’ll definitely be there. We were overwhelmed by your support last year and hope that this year’s event will be even better!
We love bank holidays and we love cake, so we’re combining the two for our summer bank holiday cake sale at the lifeboat station. Whether you like cookies, flapjacks or Victoria sponge, we’ll have something to tickle your fancy. So do come along and say hello. And if you’d like to bake a cake to support the work of our volunteer lifeboat crew, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We’re planning a massive lifeboat station open day and we’d love you to be a part of it. There’ll be fun and activities for the whole family. As well as the chance to meet our volunteer crew, check out the lifeboat and learn more about what we do. We’ll share more details as soon as we have them, but do put the date in your diary. It’s going to be huge!
